The Hardworking Creative

As you probably know, I run an Etsy shop. I'm still #new to the whole entrepreneur thing, so my continuous journey has and does consist of trial and error (and a lot of it). Sometimes I wish that I had a little more guidance, you know? Because it can be scary (and I can be lazy and impatient but we won't talk about that right now). BUT THAT'S WHERE THE HARDWORKING CREATIVE COMES IN.

This website was created by a creator and focuses on the nitty-gritty stuff that no one really talks about as a creative entrepreneur. It will also feature interviews with fellow creators as well as tips on how to pursue your dream.

I'm not just saying this when I tell you that YOU REALLY NEED TO CHECK THIS OUT BECAUSE I AM SO EXCITED FOR IT. I feel like it's going to be very helpful for a lot of young creators (you) and even for myself. (*is (im)patiently waiting for this website to get started*)

Coffee & Wisdom Book Club

Another opportunity was offered to me when the lovely Nicole messaged me about starting her own book club and was like: "lol i see you like books want to be in my book club" (not her words exactly but it basically sums everything up.) And after some thinking (because it was a busy week and I was #overwhelmed) I decided that I just couldn't pass this up so I was like: "HECK YEAH, SIGN ME UP."

And so I did.

I am now a fellow admin for Coffee & Wisdom Book Club! Wassssup!

And you can be a fellow admin as well! Signing up takes, like, two seconds and then you'll be added to the "Admins" page and you'll feel like a star.

But you don't have to sign up to be part of it. It's basically an online coffee shop where people sit around and drink coffee (or tea) all day while talking about books. To be honest, what gets any better than that?! So, stop in whenever you want. We can chat about poetry and why authors are evil monsters who destroy your soul.

You and I both know that sounds awesome so just click here.

MONTHLY WRAP-UP

Now I shall reflect upon what happened during the month of February. Which, to be honest, isn't going to be a lot because this past month was really short and, well, basically a test trial for all the months ahead.

What I posted

Things Bloggers Do That You Don't Know About | collab with Vanessa

10 Romantic Reads That Will Leave You Squealing For More + PRETTY BOOKISH PHOTOS

What I read

Batgirl Vol. 1: Batgirl of Burnside

I loved reading this because it felt like I was watching a Saturday morning cartoon about a girl in college.

The Dangerous Art of Blending In by Angelo Surmelis

I love this book with all my heart and soul. You can read my review here. I will probably never shut up about it. That's all you need to know.

And I am currently reading Carry On by Rainbow Rowell again and I am not ashamed. (You can follow along with my comical and fangirly commentary through my Goodreads updates. ;))

What I watched

Black Panther

You guys. This movie was so amazing. I haven't seen a movie this good since Wonder Woman...? Basically, it is so worth the hype and you should go see it AND TAKE ME WITH YOU BECAUSE I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN.

Now, don't hit me... but I have also been watching a little reality tv. o-o I know. I hate reality tv. But it's, like, hard to look away when your siblings are watching it right in front of you? I'm not much of a tv watcher but if someone is watching something in the same room as me, of course I'm going to peek over and see what's going on.

Plus, I can now confirm that The Selection is just like The Bachelor but with less runny mascara.

What I listened to

Simon's playlist (from Love, Simon aka Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda)

NF

He's a Christain rapper and you all need to listen to him ASAP. ...please?

Khalid (especially Love Lies for the Love, Simon movie)

I love him.

All The Stars (with SZA)

My music taste hasn't changed since the previous months so there's not much to note on that. Once I like something, I'm probably going to listen to it non-stop until something else comes along the way.

What I wrote

I'm currently working on a new project so all my other writing projects have been put on the back burner for now.

I'm not going to say much but I will tell you that it is a short story and I might share a sneak peek with you soon. Would you be interested in that? Smile for yes and smile for no because mwuahaha you don't really have a choice.

What's in the up and up

I mostly spent the last month making valentine's and working on college things. I wrote a short writing piece for one of my college application and I would actually love for you to read it. It's about people's passions and how (for example) writing a book takes as much time and effort as it does to be an athlete.

I ALSO GOT A REAL, FANCY-SCHMANCY DOMAIN!!

If you look up you can see that I no longer have a .blogspot url. Yes, sir, I actually have a url with a .com at the end of it! I FEEL SO IMPORTANT NOW. And it was long overdue considering that my old url was... *laughs nervously* Let's not talk about it.

TALK TO ME!

How was your February? Was it productive enough to be considered a real month or was it a trial month for you as well? ARE YOU EXCITED FOR THIS NEW CREATIVE WEBSITE AS MUCH AS I AM? Or maybe you're interested in joining the Coffee & Wisdom book club?!  WHAT DOES YOUR MARCH LOOK LIKE? I've decided to take my projects one at a time... I feel like it will help me get more done. But we shall see how this goes for me in the following month.

Why are contemporaries your guilty pleasure books?

What are contemporary books?

When you find your guilty pleasure book

Now that you have found your squeal-worthy book, what happens when you read it?

5 THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN WHILE READING A GUILTY PLEASURE BOOK

When you meet the characters

When you're waiting for said characters to finally get together

When they FINALLY get together and they do all those cutesy cute things and your feels just kinda go CAABOOOM

But then everything you have been waiting for goes down the drain and you can't do anything about it

THE BOOK IS NOW OVER AND THE AUTHOR ISN'T WRITING A SEQUAL SO NOW YOU ARE LEFT WITH ALL THESE FEELS AND YOU NEVER WANT TO READ ANY OTHER BOOK BUT THAT ONE

Repeat!

Yep. You're going to repeat this whole process again and again, maybe even with the same book! It's a beautiful, horrible thing to do to yourself but you love it.

Talk to me!

What are some books you've read that are YOUR guilty pleasure? HAVE YOU EVER FOUND YOURSELF IN A STATE OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS BECAUSE OF THE CHARACTERS?? Because same. WHY DO WE DO THIS TO OURSELVES? Oh, I know. It's the book life, duh. We didn't choose it, it chose us. Let me know if you related to this post in the comments!

pea ees: this post may or may not have been inspired by the fact that I recently read Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda and I haven't stopped smiling since.

Paper Pizza

HOW PAPER PIZZA CAME INTO EXISTENCE

THE BRAND

WHAT'S NEXT?

While I prep my Etsy shop (lots of adulting stuff involved, man), I am going to be introducing a new series on Paper Pizza called Author’s August where I will be interviewing 3 authors and chatting about their books with you! I’m a very awkward interviewer so you have that to look forward to. ;)

I've been in need of a fresh start so I am very excited for this next step in my blogger journey. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me for so long, it truly means the world to me... Like, you have no idea. I cannot wait for you all to experience Paper Pizza with me and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

With much love, excitement, gratitude, and extra cheese,
Your Pizza Loving Introverted Kenzie
