hey, I'm going on a creative hiatus.
I feel like poop. This weather is poop. I don't even know what I'm doing. I can't find the joy in anything. I hate my art. I don't love my writing. I get overwhelmed when I think about my photography. I can't humor myself (which is shocking because I think I'm hilarious! Don't you? C'mon. You have to agree I can crack a joke here and there... See? I used "poop" and "crack" in the same sentence! That must make you chuckle a little. I know I did.).
I have so much I want to write about but whenever it comes to scrolling through all my ideas, I can't seem to find one I want to pick. I can't even find the energy to pick it!
Now, please don't mistake this post for something along the lines of "melodramatic". I've been feeling this way for a while and I think it just means I need to take a break.
I've been lying to myself, saying things like: "Just keep going and it'll get better." But it doesn't change anything. It's like accidentally spilling water on your drawing and thinking it'll look better if you just color it in. But that still doesn't change the fact that it's a soggy wet paper. (This was an awful analogy but you know what I mean.)
So, this is my hiatus post! I won't be gone for long. I might even be back next week (you never know!). But it's most likely that I'll be back by the end of the month. Now, no tears... I'll still be around the glorious wonders of the internet. I'm just not going to put the pressure on myself to create content.
I've used up all my creative juices and I need time to refill.
But I can't wait to be back, feeling as refreshed as ever. (I hope.)
Until then... Eat lots of pizza. Read all the books. And just... be.
xx Kenzie
p.s. I've been listening to this duo on Spotify called EXES and I haven't stopped since I discovered them. I highly recommend. Have you ever listened to a song that makes your heart feel like it's bursting? Yeah, that's how I feel about all their songs. (Cain was the first song I listened to and I think it should be your first one, too. You know, in case you're interested. Also; You should read what it is about because it'll definitely make you want to cry.)
p.p.s. I've been thinking about doing more book reviews on here. I've mostly been doing them on my goodreads for some of my recent reads but I think I'd like to do them more often. Of course, you already know that I have an undying love for YA so most of my reviews would probably be in that category. What are your (honest) opinions? I'd really love to hear your thoughts on this.
