Get Inspired (cute obsessions)

Do you ever just go school supplies shopping and come home with succulent erasers you will probably never use because they are just too cute? Or cute little notebooks that you'll probably never write in because THEY ARE JUST TOO ADORABLE.

Because, same.

But on the bright side, you have adorable stationery that inspires you. And that's all that matters, am I right?

So, today I would like help you all get inspired with some of my cute finds! And for the record, I'm so not trying to brag... Okay, maybe just a little. But they're too cute to pass up!

I got these at our grocery store, they were on sale for, like, $6 or $7 (#winning, am I right?). I think the company that makes them is called C.R. Gibson. At least, that's what it says on the back of the "Bright Ideas" notebook.

The one with the glasses on the cover is actually and address book for BLOGS. Isn't that awesome? Imma put all your blogs in it. Lemme know if you want me to add yours. ;)

Funny story: It had been weeks of me contemplating on the adorable stationary that my grocery store had on display. I am not one to spend full price on such items. Plus, I knew myself too well to buy them when I would probably never touch them again. However, a sudden urge came over me. I needed this adorable supplies. Thus, I decided that the next time I go to the store, I shall get them! ...We didn't go back to the store for a few days. In my mind, I already knew that they were no longer there. What was I going to do without my blogddress book? (See what I did there? ;)) Anyhow, we finally went to the store and guess what? THEY WERE STILL THERE! And even better... EVERYTHING WAS ON SALE. So, in conclusion... I truly believe my stalling was definitely a sign.

Okay. Story over.

Then I went to Target in the beginning of September and GOT MORE CUTE SUPPLIES TYPE THINGS. YAY! ...I also got a bodysuit and t-shirt. #sorrynotsorry

Target carries this super cute line called Sugar Paper, and oh my word- stationary heaven. I got these cute post-its and paper tag type things, as seen above.

Along with this gold washi tape that I have no idea what I'm going to use for.

Quick story (I promise): Just after we checked out at Target, I saw their little bargain section and found MORE CUTE AND ADORABLE SUPPLIES STUFF. HELP ME. And it was all for just a $1. *insert cry emoji here* My youngest sister and I went nuts.

AND GUESS WHAT ELSE? THEY HAD SUCCULENT ERASERS! Yep, you heard me. Succulent erasers.

AREN'T THEY SO CUTE THO?!?!?! ...Okay, I'm done fangirling.

But not until I show you all this beautiful notebook I found at the mall. And guess what? You'll never guess. C'mon, just try to. Pleaseeee? Oh, jeez. Okay, you don't have to guess.

It was ON SALE TOO!!!! It also has those fancy gold pages you see on old books. I don't even want to touch it. <3-<3

GUEST POST BY RACHEL from Silver Mess

Keep going.

I wanted to decorate my creative workplace. You know, make it artsy, cutesy, beautiful. I’ve had a variety of things dance on and off the walls: corkboards, whiteboards, pictures of Paris. But nothing ever really seemed to fit.
While my mini decoration-crisis was occurring, I attended a film camp. Besides learning that I am NOT meant to be in the film industry (lol), one of the most valuable things I’ve ever learned about creativity--and this probably applies to most things in general--is to keep going.
Just keep going.

Even if you feel like your writing sucks or your videos stink or your photography is a disgrace to the world of photography, keep going. Because if you’re meant to do something, you’ll eventually be able to do it. It just takes time.
I will keep going. Even if people don’t like my writing and reject it either with direct words or lack of interest. Even if people call it “cute” and then disregard it altogether.
Even if people tell me becoming a writer is not “practical.” Even if they don’t understand.
Even if I feel like my writing is not up to par. Even if I think that I’m never going to get to where I want to go. Even if I feel like I’m worn out, tired from trying to reach goals that seem out-of-reach.
I’ll keep going.
Because my biggest enemy is me, and the One Who called me is the voice who matters. And if my writing glorifies Him? I will be satisfied.

When I got home on that last day of film camp, with information under my belt and lots of really good food in my stomach (Biola has really good food, lol), I went straight to my desk and, after much deliberation, grabbed a simple white piece of paper and wrote on it, in black marker, the words KEEP GOING.
It’s been hanging up on my wall ever since, and I don’t think I’m going to make another decoration. I’m not a Pinteresty person. I’ve found that I get the most inspiration from blank walls, walls that have possibility, walls that I can paint on with my mind, as opposed to ones that are already defined.
Keep going. If it’s His will, it will work out.

When did you start blogging?

I started Silver Mess in January of 2016 and it focuses on my life and, more specifically, my travels. I'm trying to change it into a travel blog, but I love writing fiction, so there's that element in it too. It's kind of all over the place, to be honest.

What are some blogs that inspire you?

I love Summer of 1999 (summerof1999.blogspot.com), Totally Graced (totallygraced.blogspot.com), and The Teentrepreneur (theteentrepreneur.blogspot.com)

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I'm sixteen going on seventeen, a senior in high school, and an aspiring writer. It's not a practical job choice, but then, I was never a practical person.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about creativity and creating things, whether it be stories or photographs or forts or anything, really. Creating is so much more fulfilling than consuming, in my opinion, and I believe that God has called me--and all other humans on this planet--to create things that point back to Him, the original Creator.

Any words of wisdom?

Keep plugging away at whatever it is you're doing. If it's your calling, don't give up.

Thank you so much, Rachel for your amazing guest post. It was lovely to have you. <3 ;) Everyone, you gotta check out her blog because she's pretty awesome. Plus the name is super cool. Am I right? So, yeah. Click here.

Paper Comets | Magazine Release

I don't know if you already know this, but Freckled Minds, a teen art society I have been honored to be part of, has released its very first magazine! Let's give a round of applause to the beautifully constructed... Paper Comets.

Over the course of this summer, I had participated in this amazing magazine collab. And now it's finally here, everyone. It feels so surreal. I feel incredibly blessed to have been a part of this project, and I am so proud of how it turned out. I am also proud to say that I stayed up until 3am to be there right when it was published. Hardcore dedication, am I right?

This magazine has provided me with smiles, late night giggles, the birth of Albion, and the opportunity to express my creative abilities.

My drawing piece for the zine

(Yes, she indeed has flowers exploding from her head)

With all honesty; I had no idea what I was getting into when I commented on Morning's post. The old Kenz who let her fears make her decisions for her, would have scrolled right passed that post. But I stopped myself and thought: "Why not?" And I am so glad I did. Because none of this would have happened and Albion wouldn't be running for president. #VoteAlbion #Pasty4Prez #Albion2k16
I hope that you all enjoy what we've done, because I know we've enjoyed ourselves. ;)

The awesome peeps who had to deal with my awkwardness:

Rosie - Self Known
Morning - Ups and Downs
Grace - Totally Graced
Ava - Quiet Land
Abbie - Abbiee
Rachel - Silver Mess
Albion - #Pasty4Prez

Special thanks to Morning and Ava for having to put up with us. Honestly, we wouldn't have made it this far without their guidance and ability to stay focused - you girls rock.
