Blog Party update!

Hey guys! So, if you don't know about the Blog Party that I'm hosting, just click HERE OR scroll down to a couple other posts because, yeah... I haven't really posted much lately. >.<

I have been thinking... and you all deserve more than just me sponsoring you on my blog. You know what I mean? So, I have decided that I want to give everyone that has entered a blog review! I'm not sure if I will do them all in one post or in individual post each week... I don't know, I'll figure that out once the party has ended (That is on May 1st, by the way.). But I thought it might be nice to do blog reviews... Kinda like where I give you all positive feedback about your blogs and that sort of thing. Just to give everyone a motivational spark.

If anyone wants a blog review, just follow the instructions in my post HERE.  Everything is the same, no changes except for what you get in return. ;)

Don't worry about the deadline, because I'm going to post about the reviews and things like that this weekend. So, take all the time you need. :}

Have a great day!

Thanks for reading. <3

P.S. I'm getting my braces off tomorrow! I cannot wait. >.<

ME | a contest entry

This is my entry for the WHAT MAKES YOU, YOU? contest over at Truly. Madly. Deeply.
I am deeply sorry for it being so late. Please forgive me?

[ look at what I created with my sharpies. ;) ]

My name; Mackenzie.
"Son of a wise ruler, born of fire."

One word. Three syllables. A person.

I know that your name isn't actually what makes you, you. It's just a name your parents picked for you when you were born. But to me, my name is part of who I am. The name itself says "born of fire", and I have red hair. So, yes, it feels like my name fits me pretty well and I really like that. :)

Who am I?

This is probably the hardest question you could ask me.

I am always trying to be someone else. Which is really stupid, I know. I don't exactly know why I do that. It could be because, all my life I've been trying to act normal. Having a need to feel what's normal.
Or it could be that I am obsessed with the idea of needing things to be perfect. I am a perfectionist. Which can be really annoying, because if something isn't perfect then it really bugs the living daylights out of me. O.o
It could also be because I have this fear of feeling stupid. I absolutely hate it.

There must be something that makes me myself, right? It could be my interests, or what I do on my free time. But, I'm going to try and answer the question here without giving you a list of things I like or like to do... So bear with me, okay?

I am the background.

I am the reader not the book.

I am the pencil not the paper.

I saw this on weheartit today and it explained me more than I could ever explain myself.

I am the observer.

I live for the people around me.

And you know what? I like that.
I don't want to be center stage, I want to be the backdrop.

I don't want to be the world, I want to be somebody's world.

So, basically I am still figuring out who I am. •-•

Thanks for reading. <3

Again, I apologize for this being so late. #Shameonmysoul

I love you, Rosie. <3

Let's Par-Tay!

Hey there! Hi. Yeah, you. Yup, I'm talking to you-- Hey! Wait! Don't leave just yet. I have something very important to say. So, please give me like, two minutes. K? Thanks. •-•

*coughs and clears throat*...I am so happy to announce that today is think. eat. write. read.'s very first birthday!

I remember when I first started blogging, which was in February of 2011. I stopped for a while the next year... and-- yeah, I'm not going to leave any links to those older blogs of mine because it is quite embarrassing. O.o But, anyways... then I started blogging again last year.

So far, I have had two different designs with this blog, all done by my fabulous Rosie.

[design from 2013]

I've made it to 91 followers.
I've had 25,416 pageviews.
And I believe 1,679 comments.

I cannot tell you how thankful I am to have had such amazing followers. You guys have been the best, and I feel like I can really connect with you. You all have no idea how big I smile every time someone takes a minute out of their life, to leave a sweet comment on something I wrote. It honestly means a lot to me.
That is one reason why I would like to have you all join me and celebrate with a blog party! \(•-•)/

Uh, I have not done a blog party before... But hey, there's a first for everything so we will see how this works out. :) You guys don't have to do it, it's optional of course! Though, I would deeply appreciate it if my beautiful followers can take part in this extravaganza.

Here's how it is going to work:

- Write a blog post about my blog party, answering these three questions with the photo above.

1. What do you like most about my blog?
2. What are some tips/advice I could use to help improve my blog?
3. What is your favorite flower? (because, you know, it's spring.)

- Put my blog party button on your sidebar. (optional)

- Come back here and comment the link to your blog post.

Now hold on, I'm not quite done. In return for posting about my blog party, I would like to sponsor your blog(s) by putting your blog button on my sidebar, until May 1st. :)

I'm kind of bribing you. ;) You post about my blog party, and in return I sponsor your blog.

If it makes it easier you can also;

- Put the blog party button on your side bar

- Comment with your answers to the following questions above.

Again, whichever you prefer. And this is 100% optional. I'd hate to make you do something yah don't want to do. O-O

I think that is everything... Again, thank you all so much for your wonderful support. I honestly wouldn't be writing this if it weren't for you guys.

Hope you guys have a great day, and enjoy the party! ;)

... (~•-•)~ ... ~(•-•)~ ... ~(•-•~) ... <-- le me, getting my groove on. :P

[you are more than welcome to share this post on Google+ as well!]

Boom Clap

Charli xcx - Boom Clap (from The Fault in Our Stars soundtrack)

"No silver or no gold
You could dress me up so good
You're the glitter in the darkness of my world
Just tell me what to do
I'll fall right into you
We're going under cast the spell just say the word
I feel your love"

Warning: I'll probably be posting a lot of music from the TFIOS soundtrack, once it comes out. :P

something I would like to share with you...

Today, I would like to share this video with you.

This here is a very beautiful young woman, Lizzie Velasquez, and she is an inspiration.
I remember seeing her on the news about her syndrome. And I remember hearing that she isn't able to gain weight, and I was just like; "What?" So, I took a closer look at her and couldn't help but admire the way she spoke and actually how beautiful she was.

I honestly think that everyone should check this video out, it is truly amazing, and quite moving.

Enjoy! :)

Tell me, How do YOU define yourself?

Comment below! Or comment if you have any thoughts on this topic. :)

You are NOT your body

[ photo/gif via tumblr ]

Today I want to talk about our physical features.

As human beings we tend to judge people by their appearance. Okay? It's just human nature, people.

There are two types of judgement;

1. Bad Judgement.

2. Good Judgement.

Some people mistake judgement as always bad judgement. Not all judgment is bad, but not all judgement is good either.

Here comes the part where I talk about our physical features.

Some people also mistake your body for who you really are. And you know what? No. Just no. You cannot pick your friends or enemies based on what they look like. You are NOT what you look like.
You are NOT your natural hair color.
You are NOT your skin color.
You are NOT your body shape.
You are NOT your fingers,
or toes.
You are NOT your eye color.
You are NOT the freckles across your cheeks.
You are NOT what you look like.

People need to take the time to get to know one another. Because, actually, you ARE;
The movies you like.
The books you read.
The way you wear your hair.
The way you like to dress.
Your interests and hobbies.
What you like to eat.
What you like to talk about.
The way you think.

...You get the point.

All I'm trying to say is; You are your soul, not your body. You are your inner being.

Now, as human beings, we need to focus on not judging a person by what they look like. Good judgement only. I know it is hard, but just think about who that person might really be if you get to know them. :)

And remember;

Always be you.
